I’m Verity.
I’m originally from Sydney, Australia, but these days I call the Algarve home.
Before moving to Portugal, I spent around 10 years living in London, where I met my Portuguese-speaking husband and had my two children. In 2022, we made the move to the Algarve. My youngest child was just over a year old, and like any new parent in a new place, I was constantly searching for things we could do together as a family.
Despite my constant searching, on google maps and Facebook groups, I found it difficult to find places and things to do. So without too much thought, I created my Instagram, ( and subsequently) this website, to share cool places, free guides and tips to explore one of the most beautiful places in the world - beyond the tourist cliches.
Four years on, my love for this corner of Portugal has only grown. And that love eventually turned into another project: a coffee table book celebrating the Algarve and all the things that make it so special.
Outside of My Algarve Life, I’m also a Pilates teacher, I love to move, (or as my husband complains) can't stay still, so I’ve recently started dabbling into DJing as well (very, very amateurly!). I’m also a regular contributor to Algarve Plus Magazine.
And yes, I’m a Gemini — which probably explains why I’m always trying something new.
